Policy Period

1 year.

Premium payment frequency

Premium can be paid on Yearly, Half Yearly, Quarterly and Monthly basis.
Premium payment frequency can only be selected at the inception of the policy or at the renewal of the policy.

A loading will be applied on the premium for Half Yearly, Quarterly and Monthly Payment mode.

Entry Age & Renewal
The minimum entry age is 3 months for children and 18 years for adults. Maximum entry age limit for adults is 65 years. Dependent Children will be covered up to 25 years in the policy.
The plan provides lifetime renewal opportunity.

Relationships Covered
Individual plan can be bought for self, lawfully wedded spouse, Dependent children up to the age of 25 years, parents, parent in laws.

A family floater plan can cover self, lawfully wedded spouse, dependent children up to the age of 25 years, parents, parent in laws. A floater cover can cover a maximum of 2 adults and 3 dependent children under a single policy.

Free Look Period
The insured shall be allowed a period of fifteen days from date of receipt of the Policy to review the terms and conditions of the Policy, and to return the same if not acceptable.
If the insured has not made any claim during the Free Look Period, the insured shall be entitled to 


  • a refund of the premium paid less any expenses incurred by the Company on medical examination of the insured person and the stamp duty charges; or

  • where the risk has already commenced and the option of return of the Policy is exercised by the insured, a deduction towards the proportionate risk premium for period of cover or

  • Where only a part of the insurance coverage has commenced, such proportionate premium commensurate with the insurance coverage during such period

Grace Period

There is a grace period of 30 days for renewal of annual premium policy from the date of expiry and 15 days for monthly, quarterly and half yearly premium policy from the date of expiry.

You can port your existing health insurance policy to the Arogya Sanjeevani Policy, ManipalCigna, provided you are covered under any individual indemnity health insurance policy issued by General insurer or Health insurer including family floater policies

You can place a request for cancellation any time during the term of the policy; premium refund will be on short period basis.

First 30 days Waiting Period
A waiting period of 30 days from the Inception Date of the Policy will be applicable for all hospitalization claims except in case of accidents and policies accepted under portability norms.

Pre-existing Diseases Waiting Period
Pre-existing diseases will be covered after 48 months of continuous coverage under this plan. 


Waiting Period for specific illness

Waiting Period of 24 months will be applicable for some specific illnesses as mentioned below.

  • Benign ENT disorders

  • Tonsillectomy

  • Adenoidectomy

  • Mastoidectomy

  • Tympanoplasty

  • Hysterectomy

  • All internal and external benign tumours, cysts, polyp of any kind, including benign breast lumps

  • Benign prostate hypertrophy

  • Cataract and age related eye ailments

  • Gastric/Duodenal Ulcer

  • Gout and Rheumatism

  • Hernia of all types

  • Hydrocele

  • Non Infective Arthritis

  • Piles, Fissures and Fistula in anus

  • Pilonidal sinus, Sinusitis and related disorders

  • Prolapse inter Vertebral Disc and Spinal Diseases unless arising from accident

  • Calculi in urinary system, Gall Bladder and Bile duct, excluding malignancy.

  • Varicose Veins and Varicose Ulcers

  • Internal Congenital Anomalies

Waiting Period of 48 months will be applicable for following specific illnesses.

  • Treatment for joint replacement unless arising from accident

  • Age-related Osteoarthritis & Osteoporosis

Fixed Co-pay of 5% shall be applicable across all the ages for every claim

Key Exclusions
We will not pay any claims arising out of or attributable to any of the following:

  • Any illness resulting from the Insured committing any breach of law.

  • Contamination from Nuclear fuel or radiation

  • Foreign invasion or civil war

  • Drug abuse
