Chairman, Manipal Education and Medical Group (MEMG)
Dr. Ranjan Pai is the Chairman of the Manipal Education and Medical Group (MEMG), the corporate holding entity of the Group that focuses on education, healthcare and research.
Dr. Pai restructured the entire Group in line with the global business environment, to meet, anticipate and take on new challenges. He played an instrumental role in corporatizing the MEMG by bringing in professionals at the management level, and has taken its Education and Healthcare businesses to impressive heights, attracting private equity capital in the process.
Under his guidance and leadership, MEMG started ‘Stempeutics’, a stem cell therapeutics company, which is involved in developing therapeutics from both embryonic as well as adult stem cells.
Dr. Pai’s vision and dynamic entrepreneurial skills, coupled with a strong focus on innovation and implementation, have enabled the MEMG to become a major global player in the areas of education, healthcare and research.
A medical graduate from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, Dr. Pai completed his fellowship in Hospital Administration in the United States. He began his career as the Managing Director of the Melaka Manipal Medical College in Malaysia, which he conceived as a world-class international medical college, further strengthening the Group’s global footprint.
President, Cigna International Markets
Jason Sadler leads Cigna Corporation’s international business, responsible for realizing Cigna’s mission to help improve the health, well-being, and sense of security for more than 12 million customers in over 200 countries and jurisdictions, including parts of the U.S.
He has expanded Cigna’s offering including the company’s Global Individual Private Medical Insurance business for high-net-worth globally mobile individual employees and retirees.
Sadler also successfully led market entry in India and Turkey, and directed the acquisition of Zurich Insurance Middle East. Under his leadership, the International Markets business has doubled in size over the past six years.
Sadler has more than 25 years’ experience in the insurance industry. Prior to joining Cigna in
2010, he spent 16 years with HSBC, most recently as Managing Director, Insurance Business
Hong Kong. Prior to this, Jason held a series of increasingly senior roles at HSBC in North America, South America and Europe. Before joining HSBC, he worked in the U.K. with Axa Insurance and Zurich Financial Services.
Sadler graduated from Swansea University in the U.K. with a degree in Business Studies (BSc).

S Vaitheeswaran ("Vaithee") is the Chief Executive Officer of Manipal Education & Medical Group (MEMG), which oversees all the business verticals of the Group. Prior to becoming a Member of the Board, Vaithee was also the Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of Manipal Global Education Services Private Limited (MaGE). In this role, he was responsible for running and growing the company’s medical schools and multi-disciplinary universities in Antigua, Dubai, Nepal, and Malaysia.
In India, he steered the group’s fast-growing professional learning business (Manipal ProLearn), largest banking domain training institute (Manipal Global Academy of BFSI), skill testing and assessment (MeritTrac) and nurtured skill development through a JV company (Manipal City & Guilds).
Vaithee has around 35 years of rich experience in the corporate world in areas of Sales & Marketing, Supply Chain Management, Operations, and Global Marketing. He has spent a large time in the Automotive Industry and held the positions of Director – Sales & Marketing and COO – Eicher International. Before joining Manipal, he worked with Infosys where he led the Hi-Tech and Manufacturing vertical for their BPO Unit.
Vaithee is a member of the CII-CEO forum and is also an active speaker and participant in the higher education panel of Industry Forums. He holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Materials Management from the Institute of Materials Management and an Engineering degree from the University of Madras.

Prasun Sikdar brings more than 22 years of leadership experience in financial services and deep insurance knowledge to ManipalCigna. Before joining ManipalCigna, Prasun was Group President and Global Head at Yes Bank, where he managed and grew key bancassurance and mutual fund alliances and partnerships.
Prior to this he was a founding member and Senior General Manager – Chief Sales & Distribution at ICICI Prudential Life Insurance. During his 17 years with ICICI Prudential Life Insurance, he worked across several portfolios including Operations & Underwriting, Bancassurance, Agency, Alternate Distribution, Health Business and Sales Strategy. Before ICICI Prudential Life, he has been associated with GE Capital (SBI Cards) and Citicorp.
Prasun holds a master's degree in economics from the Kolkata University, and comes with a substantial experience in the field of financial services & insurance industry along with on-the job cross functional and cross industry experience.

Cigna Insurance Middle East
Jerome Droesch is the Chief Executive Officer of Cigna in the Middle East & North Africa region, with an oversight into Cigna operations in India and Turkey. In his capacity, he is responsible for advancing the company’s operations as the premier provider of both health and wellness insurance services to individuals, groups and government entities across the MENA region, Turkey and India.
In addition, he oversees Cigna’s locally regulated offices in the Middle East and the implementation of high-level strategies for ensuring the long-term profitable growth of the organization.
Prior to joining Cigna, Jerome was with AXA Group in an illustrious career spanning over 27 years, where he held various management positions across multiple geographies and business, including Member of the Executive Committee for the AXA Group; Regional CEO for AXA France; Regional CEO for AXA Gulf and Middle East & Africa Region, where he was instrumental in building strong operations and spearheading the brand to a market leading position in the region.
He most recently served as the CEO for AXA Partners, a unit of AXA dedicated to developing partnership business globally, with headquarters in the United Kingdom.
Jerome has a Masters in Engineering from Ecole Centrale, a Masters in Wealth Management from the SKEMA Business School, and has completed his further management studies from INSEAD.
Dr. Narottam Puri
Dr. Narottam Puri was selected as Chairman of NABH (2010-12) after serving a stint as Member, Accreditation Committee of NABH. He continues to serve as a Member on the Board of NABH.
Dr. Puri’s association with FICCI’s Health Services division dates back to 11 years. He has been a member of the Health services committee for 11 years and was requested to become the Advisor 6 years ago. He has been a vital cog in the committee working to bring intra industry and government – industry to align and work for national good. He has been the Chairman of FICCI Heal – the annual Healthcare Conference (2010). Chairman Advisory Group on Standard Treatment Guidelines – STG (work allotted by Ministry of Health and FW). He has also chaired the Health Insurance Committee of FICCI. In this role, he has worked extensively with both the government at the center and IRDAI, also with both private healthcare delivery and private healthcare insurance providers. He also serves as an Advisor – Medical Value Travel Committee of FICCI.
After retiring as President Fortis Healthcare (India’s largest private hospital chain), Dr. Puri was asked to be the Advisor – Medical. He is the Medical “Face” of the organization, representing it in conferences, debates and various associations. He also serves as a Director on the Governing Board of Fortis Escorts Heart Institute and is currently the Chairman of FORTIS MEDICAL COUNCIL.
Dr. Puri also worked with World Bank and FICCI on a Health Insurance project. He was Director & Head Department of ENT. He headed the Strategic Business Units of Pathology, Radiology & Pharmacy. He also served as Chief of Operations of 3 hospitals in Delhi (Panchsheel Park, Noida & Pitampura), 2 clinics (Maharani Bagh & Greater Kailash) and several “Implants” (small clinics within the precincts of factory of office). He also worked with Max Healthcare as Medical Director, overseeing the development, staffing & functioning of the medical service of Max Healthcare.
Rajeev Chitrabhanu is the former CEO and Managing Director of JM Financial Services Ltd. He managed the Financial Services business for JM Financial Group. This includes Equity brokerage, Equity Financing Business, Currency and Commodity Brokerage, Wealth Management, Distribution.
Prior to this he spent several years on the Investment Banking side with JM Morgan Stanley where he set up the Capital Markets Group and led the IPOs of companies such as Iflex, Bharti Televentures, Cadila Healthcare to name a few. He has spent his formative years working for corporates in the US and then worked in Europe after which he moved to India.
He serves on the Advisory board for a few Global Private Equity Funds like TPG and was an advisor to the US-India Investors Council and serves as a Trustee to a few charitable organizations.

Meena serves on the Board of Governors of the Indian Institute of Management-Calcutta. She is also a member of the CII (Confederation of Indian Industry) Innovation & Entrepreneurship Council as well as the CII Healthcare Council. She was awarded the Distinguished alumnus by the Indian Institute of Management – Calcutta, in the year 2011.
Luis is Chairman of CORO and Centre for Civil Society. He is also actively involved with other non-profits including SNEHA, CARE India, Educate Girls, and Take Charge. Prior to this, he has been involved with setting up two highly successful companies – HDFC Bank and IDFC Private Equity. He is Senior Advisor, Morgan Stanley Infrastructure and is on Chicago Booth’s Global Advisory Board and Social Enterprise Initiative’s Advisory Board. Luis received an MBA from the Booth School of Business, University of Chicago and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
